Care Instructions

Caring for sterling silver doesn't have to be a laborious, time-consuming task. Follow these simple steps and very little maintenance will be needed.

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes over time as the moisture in the air reacts with the surface of the metal. However, specialist jewellery polishing cloths and liquid cleaning solutions work wonders to remove the discolouration caused by tarnish and restore the shine of your silver pieces within minutes.

Tick icon  Wear regularly

Wearing your jewellery regularly will naturally buff the metal and help keep your jewellery looking in good condition.

Tick mark icon Jewellery box

Store your jewellery in an airtight bag, this will stop contact with the moisture in the air and  prevent tarnish from occurring.

Tick Mark Icon Warm soapy water

Wash your jewellery in warm soapy water - save time and wear it in the shower! This will not damage your sterling silver and 9ct gold jewellery.

cross mark icon   Swimming pool

Chlorine reacts with sterling silver and will cause your jewellery to tarnish and blacken very quickly.  If this happens you can use a jewellery polishing cloth or cleaning solution to restore the shine and colour.

cross mark icon  Household cleaners

Household cleaning products such as bleach can cause discolouration to the metal.  This discoloration can be removed using a jewellery polishing cloth or cleaning solution.

cross mark icon  Perfumes and cosmetics

The chemicals in some cosmetics and perfumes can react with the metals causing discolouration.  Remove jewellery and allow cosmetic products and perfumes to dry before putting jewellery on. If discoloration occurs this can be removed using jewellery polishing cloth or cleaning solution.
